Pages from your Librarian

The Elyria Public Library is excited to kick off our Summer Reading Club on Saturday, June 3rd. Sign up for summer reading and enjoy entertainment and snacks at this event. All of our branches have planned free summer fun from crafts to music, story times, games and tech programming. One highlight is musician Tom Sieling: Take a Tromp Through the Swamp! He will rock out West River library on Thursday, June 8th at 1pm. West River's weekly event, Popsicles on the Patio, starts Monday, June 5th at 2pm. Kids 6-12 years old can have a blast with a different craft or activity every week, followed by a cool treat. Don't forget our story times for the wee ones. Most importantly ,check out stacks of books to read this summer. New titles arrive weekly so prepare to impress your teachers this fall by avoiding the summer slide. The only slide you want is one covered with cool water leading into a pool. So flip flop your way into the Elyria Public Library this summer and have the time of your life!

Tours, storytimes, and group visits may be scheduled for school classes, scout groups, day cares, and parent groups. To schedule a visit, please call EPLS staff at least three weeks in advance.

Early Literacy

Our children's rooms are full of wonderous adventures waiting to be explored by your little ones. We want to help build the skills your child needs to be ready for school by working with them to develop early literacy and learning skills, such as talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing.

Homework Help

Stop in for a quiet area and large tables to get your homework completed. Use our online research tools.

Cards & Computers

The children's Room computers are just for kids! You'll need a student ID or library card to sign on. Don't have a library card? We have a Children's 3 for ME card for kids under 12.
