Pages from your Librarian

With September comes a fresh start of the school year, new routines, notebooks and sharp pencils. The Elyria Public Library has planned autumn full of lively children's programming. Attend a story time for little ones and hear some music, shake a maraca and expose your child to rich language. Make a stress ball or cookie mosaic at the Kids' Only Club at West River, ages 5-8. Create a bracelet using technology at Central Library, ages 12-18. See our calendar online for more information and programming.

Tours, storytimes, and group visits may be scheduled for school classes, scout groups, day cares, and parent groups. To schedule a visit, please call EPLS staff at least three weeks in advance.

Early Literacy

Our children's rooms are full of wonderous adventures waiting to be explored by your little ones. We want to help build the skills your child needs to be ready for school by working with them to develop early literacy and learning skills, such as talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing.

Homework Help

Stop in for a quiet area and large tables to get your homework completed. Use our online research tools.

Cards & Computers

The children's Room computers are just for kids! You'll need a student ID or library card to sign on. Don't have a library card? We have a Children's 3 for ME card for kids under 12.
